Whether on the feet of Kate Moss; the Beastie Boys; Björk or any number of fashionable people of the last 50+ years, the adidas Gazelle remains an icon. Their simple suede uppers with white stripes have become the archetypical adidas design since first releasing in 1966.
Compared with the '66 release, 1985's Gazelle sports a wider toebox. If you know anything about Gazelles then you'll know this is a welcome change. The heel counter on the '80s version is a definite improvement, along with a thicker sole. One of the most recognisable features from this era is the foam tongue, which features embossed channels that came from football boots of the time.
For many people, this right here is the perfect Gazelle.
