The EARLS x ASICS GT-2160 “Ngāwari”—which translates to “tread softly”—tells the story of Lewi Brown’s lineage and the culture which permeates it. EARLS COLLECTION is a personal project of Brown, continuing the memory of his father and grandfather through a story inspired by his sporting career.
Inspired by iconic Maori touchstones such as pounamu and paua the EARLS GT-2160 reflects elements of Brown's time growing-up with his family's cultural heritage. The textile upper is reminiscent of flax weaving, whilst the insole's multicoloured print is taken from the abalone shell.
