Using vintage jeans as a starting point, Kartik's artisans deconstruct each pair and rebuild them with a patchwork of several different pieces combined into one. The distressed marks are embraced and the hems are left raw to accentuate the rough finish.
The double-knee detail is lined with traditional Shisa mirrorwork, a technique which has been practiced throughout the Indian subcontinent since the 17th century.
