This is what a sports sneaker looked like in 1982 – how far we've come. The adidas Hamburg is one of the shoes released under the famed City Series which – as the name suggests – saw a range of shoes named after certain cities.
As Australians, it's hard to convey the impact that the City Series had on European kids in particular, but for many there's a particular shoe from the range which they claim as 'theirs'.
This version's colours are a reference to the bricks and oxidised frames of the Hamburg fish market—host of this year's UEFA Euro knock-out games.
