When New Balance set the task of creating a silhouette inspired by their century-long heritage, it was no small undertaking. Thankfully NB's team has talented people like James Lee and Yue Wu – the minds behind the 90/60 project. Wu worked his magic on the 9060's upper, whilst Lee was responsible for the sole tooling.
Iconic upper panels from the 2002 and 990 series pairs with the 860v2 sole tooling to morph into something completely new. Details run deep: the tongue badge is inspired by the forefoot ABZORB on the 991, there's an oversized CR motion-control device on the heel and a massive reflective N.
