Nike SB Dunk High Pro 'Strawberry Cough' Shoes in University Red, Spinach Green and Magic Ember. A fruity and 420 themed release inspired by one of nature’s juiciest berries, the Nike SB Dunk High Pro receives a ‘Strawberry Cough’ makeover for 2021. Following on from 2019’s Dunk High ‘Dog Walker’ 420 release, these two tone sneakers are styled with shaggy green suede and speckled red leather uppers, whilst the translucent rubber outsole features a hazy twist in honour of its smoking themed muse. An integrated Zoom Air unit remains true to tradition as it complements the classic circular underfoot tread for maximised traction and grip, whilst the perforated toe box delivers a well circulated sense of comfort regardless of setting. The recessed 9 eyelet lacing system secures the ‘Nike SB Dunk High Pro’ tongue in place across the natural arch of the foot, with interchangeable laces styled with reference to the profile’s fruity colouring. Shaggy green suede Swooshes decorate each side wall as they merge across the padded green velvet rear collar, with the handy soft-touch velvet pull tabs designed to provide quick and easy wear. Signed off with a contrasting red stitch cupsole trim, an embroidered strawberry caricature across the exterior heel panel and with custom ‘Strawberry Cough’ illustrative insoles for a touch of added creative character.
Designed by North Dakota based illustrator Todd Bratrud, the same mastermind behind the 2006 ‘Send Help’ Dunk High, the Nike SB ‘Strawberry Cough’ Dunk finds itself well placed in the brand’s ever-expanding line up of 420 themed releases. Pairing references to West Coast culture with a noted sense of conceptualised creativity, Nike SB remain true to their authentic aesthetic for yet another eagerly awaited release.
