For Australians, the Varsity Jacket has never really received the respect it deserves. We'll put that down to the fact we don't have the same college sports culture as the US but whatever it might be, this under-appreciated piece of outerwear is about as timeless as sportswear gets. Put this Engineered Garments piece alongside something decades older than it and you'd be hard-pressed picking them apart.
These are made for EG by famed American sportswear manufacturer Albion Knitting Mills who have been making college jackets since 1923. The melton wool body and leather sleeves are just as they would have been in the 1950s, down to the rolled cuff ribbing.
