For this season Nicholas Daley explores the legacy of Caribbean music legend and civil rights activist Harry Belafonte. Best know for his record-breaking 'Calypso' – the first LP to sell over 1 million copies within a year – Belafonte is a civil rights activist, political activist and humanitarian. With this inspiration, Nicholas Daley delves into the iconic Calypso style which Belafonte's music exemplified.
The Fonte jacket makes no attempts to hide the reference to Harry Belafonte in its name. The wide lapels are accented by the contrasting olive green plain weave collar – a detail mirrored with the four patch pockets on the jacket's front. Lined across the shoulders, the relaxed cut pairs well with Daley's signature aesthetic which combines musical influence with workwear cues and classic mens tailoring.
